What we collect and why
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider, Netlify, receives the technical details your browser sends with every request: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. We use this only to run and protect the site.
Each page also loads Metricool's web analytics script. It tells Metricool which page you viewed and the size of your browser window, and Metricool receives your IP address and browser details with that request. It does not set cookies. We use it to see which pages people visit.
When you book a call
Our "Book A Consultation" and "Get Started" buttons take you to our Calendly booking page. Calendly collects the details you enter there, such as your name, email address and answers to the booking questions, and passes them to us so we can hold the call. Calendly's own privacy policy applies on its site.
When you use our order form
The order form at /start/ is not taking orders yet. It asks for your name, email address, phone number, business name, current website, a description of your project and your card details. Your card details go straight from your browser to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe keeps your contact details, your order summary and your saved card in our Stripe account so we can review your project and, only after we accept it, take payment.
When you open the order form page, Stripe's script loads and sets two cookies, __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid, which Stripe uses to prevent fraud.
When you contact us
If you email or call us, we keep what you send so we can reply and do the work you ask for.
Cookies, advertising and video
Our cookie banner asks for your permission before any marketing technology runs. Until you choose Accept, we do not load:
- Google Ads. If you accept, the Google Ads tag loads. Google sets cookies, such as
_gcl_auon our domain and cookies on doubleclick.net, to measure whether our ads lead to visits and to show our ads to people who have visited this site (remarketing). - YouTube. The video on our home page loads from YouTube only after you accept marketing cookies, either in the banner or on the video itself. YouTube then sets its own cookies.
The banner remembers your choice in cookies whose names start with cmplz_, for up to 365 days. To change your choice, use the "Manage consent" button at the bottom of the page on larger screens, or clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner will ask again. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a no and do not load these services.
Other services our pages load
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) and the jQuery script library from the WordPress.com content network (c0.wp.com, run by Automattic). Those requests send your IP address and browser details to Google and Automattic.
Who we share information with
We use service providers to run this site and our business. They handle information on our behalf:
- Netlify (website hosting)
- Metricool (page-view counts)
- Calendly (call booking)
- Stripe (payments)
- Google (fonts, and Google Ads and YouTube only if you accept marketing cookies)
- Automattic (script delivery)
- Our email providers, for messages you send us
We also disclose information when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information. If you accept marketing cookies, the Google Ads remarketing tag may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can say no by choosing Deny in the banner, or change your choice later as described above.
How long we keep information
We keep messages, booking details, and order and billing records for as long as we need them to work with you and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete them sooner, as described below. Consent cookies last up to 365 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing jake@pinnaclewebagency.com. We will check that the request comes from you and then respond. Some records, such as invoices, we may have to keep by law. Depending on where you live, your state's privacy law may give you further rights. Send those requests the same way and we will honor the rights that apply to you. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Card details are handled by Stripe, not by us. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
